Description (brief)
Chest ornament, to be carried by men during dance. A piece of bone hanging from a band is supposed to start spinning during dancing, producing a "humming" sound. The chest band is broader (about 4 cm) on the chestside and more narrow (about 1 cm) on the backside. The front side has weaved in patterns of yellow and brown fibre cord. The piece of bone is attached in the middle. This bone appears to be polished and has two holes in it. The frontside of the band has a ring embedded in the cloth on either side.

Mouth harp, made from a bamboo stem. The stem is carved in twice down to the node. The small part between the cuts is narrow and short. The most narrow side of the harp is wound with fibre cord, probably tree bark, to keep the parts together. The broad side of the harp has a cord around it as well, to create variations in pitch. The harp is placed at the mouth. Its sound is made breathing out. the mouth harp was used to let a girl know she was favoured.

Description (brief)
Headhunting horn made of bamboo with engraved patterns. An unworked band is carved in the middle of the horn. On both sides of this band are mirroring geometrical patterns. The head hunting horn was traditionally used to incite young men to go headhunting. Probably this horn was made for white people living in the area, after the headhunting had become obsolete.

Description (brief)
Wooden bowl for serving meals of sago porridge (bapeda). The bottom of the bowl is engraved with several patterns. The deeper-set parts are coloured white with chalk. The patterns on both long sides of the bowl possibly depict animals (crocodile, lizard). The rounded side of the bowl and the projection (from which the bowl can be hung) suggest it represents a turtle. During festivities such a bowl is used to eat from collectively. The sago porridge is then served with fish and a spicy sauce.

Description (brief)
Wooden panel, oblong shaped with rounded top in which an eye is carved to enable the object to hang from a wall. Three spiralled patterns are carved into the oblong section. The protruding parts are coloured black, the lower ones are unworked. This woodcarving is from the Sentani area. It was probably meant as wall decoration (similar boards with patterns from Sentani, Tanah Merah and other areas were produced at the university museum in Abepura for the tourist trade in the 1970s) The patterns were originally used for decorating praus and/or drums.
