The information collected by PACE is described by volunteers on a database designed for this purpose.
PACE focuses on all types of heritage: books and documents, artefacts or objects,
images, including movies, videos, slides and photos and (since late 2006) Oral History.
In addition to the descriptions, reference details on sources, digital images and details on materials or techniques used are also stored on the data base.
Private collectors not (yet) ready to transfer their collection can have the information digitally described and recorded on the PACE database.
Unique Material
The diverse nature of their languages and cultures makes the indigenous population of former Papua New Guinea the bearers of a unique cultural heritage. PACE plays an important role in making this unique and valuable heritage as well as information on further references and sources accessible world wide.
