- PACE (Papua Heritage Foundation) collects all kinds of Papua Heritage without reserve and is unique in this sense. It is the only organisation in the world that collects every form of heritage material imaginable: artefacts. documents and books, images, sound and other intangible heritage.
- PACE provides access to many of the private collections that exist in the
Netherlands
- PACE aims to make the material on the website available in three languages: Dutch, English and Bahasa Indonesia. There are tens of thousands of artefacts from former Dutch New Guinea in the Netherlands in institutions and private collections (none of which will be repatriated to New Guinea in the foreseeable future). Most of the information has been compiled in the Dutch language which makes it difficult for speakers of other languages to inform themselves if they wish. Hence the aim to create a tri-lingual website
- PACE is a Knowledge specialist and by now, it has become a key informant on information about Papua Culture, not only for specialists in the field, but for the wider public. The latter has become a main focus
- PACE has access to a diverse range of personnel within its organisation: PACE is home to three generations of Papuans living in the Netherlands and a range of people from very diverse cultural backgrounds with different kinds of knowledge
- PACE combines the rational with the passionate in relation to Papua: Because it is largely made up of researchers, scientists, former residents, administrators and missionaries. who have all lived and worked there or are their descendents , the interest and love of in the country, its culture and its people has both a rational and emotional component
